Little green apples

8"x8"
oil on canvas-covered board

Continuing to finish pieces which were semi-abandoned previously, I have been having trouble with colors, and often end up with mud, but today read a very interesting article by Nita Leland which I printed ages ago but never really studied.  I spent several hours painting a color wheel with all her colors and combinations, plus a few of my own, as I like a wider slection of greens, and by cleaning the brush before EACH stroke, I got a wonderful selection of ALL the colors I could possibly want for the time being from just six basic colors plus white.  We'll  see in the following weeks if the new information makes a difference.
